I love Spring!
It is
my favorite season of the year. Easter, the main holiday of Spring, adds even more joy to
this very special time of year. In celebration of Easter, I had an Easter Egg hunt on the
'Net to find great Web sites for children and those of us who are "kids at
heart."
What better place to start
Easter than with Walt Disney and an Easter Egg Parade? Join Disney's Family Fun Web site in celebrating
Easter. This site has a dozen ways to transform a simple egg (boiled, blown, or broken)
into a artistic masterpiece.
And what would Easter Eggs be without an Easter
Egg hunt? There are numerous Easter Egg hunts for "kids" of all ages on the
'Net. "The BIG Internet Easter Egg Hunt"
is a great starting place to hunt for your own eggs by surfing through Web sites. This
site has three different Egg hunts: the "Bunny Trail" through Web pages created
by young children; the "Rabbit Trail" through pages developed by bigger kids;
and the "WildHare Trail" through pages created by Webmasters and companies.
My favorite Easter Egg hunt was through the
Bunny trail. I found sites created by Brownie troop 494, Mrs. Solomon's 3rd
Grade Class, and many more sites created by children as young as two years. Topics include
Spiderman, the Best of Baseball, Beanie Babies, KidsSpace, Rugrats and more. As one
of the child Web authors states, you will find lots of "Egg-citement" in these
pages!
And a lot more "egg-citement" for
children can be found on other Easter Web sites. The "5geokids Easter Page"
features Spring and Easter puzzles. An Easter Bunny biscuit recipe is available at http://www.chilipaper.com.
Easter stories can be found at http://www.bconnex.net/~mbuchana/ realms/easter/
stindx.html. The "House Rabbit Society: Just for Kids!" site features rabbit
activities for children, including a poem dedicated to the Easter rabbit who couldn't be
saved.
At Billy Bear's Happy Easter site, children
will find all types of fun Easter activities. This site includes games, mazes, coloring
books, puzzles, stories and "virtual" greeting cards.

Speaking
of virtual greeting cards, one of my favorite "virtual greeting card" Web sites
continues to be Blue Mountain Arts. Visit their Easter section for cards for everyone on
your email list: Spouse, Mother, Dad, Daughter, Son, Sister, Brother, and all
other friends and loved ones. You will surely find the special card just right for
each person on your list. Or, if you
would prefer, send your loved ones on their own Easter Egg hunt. Send the Easter Egg hunt card.
It includes an Easter Egg hunt game.
Lest we all forget the true reason for Easter, I
found many sites to help us remember.
A play, "The Easter
Bunny Finds the True Meaning of Easter
or Chester gets a Clue!" can be found at
http://www2.omaccess.com/youthmin/ sessions/The _Easter _Bunny.htm (Page not currently
available - June 1998). This play is recommended for kindergarten through eighth grade
children.
The Easter in Cyberspace Web site
features hyperlinks to many spirituality based Easter sites. Here you will find Easter
history, Lent meditations, drama, poetry, pastor resources, and personal Easter Web pages
links. The Easter page features
reflections on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Another spiritual Easter site with a great deal
of depth is the "Holy
Page." This site includes information about Passover (recipes, general
information, Seder, recipes) and Easter (hymns, stories, poems, prayers, creeds, prayers,
and meditations).
Spring fever now calls. I hope you will enjoy
these sites as you, too, celebrate Easter and Spring.
My May article, "Selecting a Web
Developer" will continue my "Using the Web for Profit and Fun" series.
Until then, I wish you, as always, great prosperity and 'Net success!
Happy Easter!
Happy Spring!
