It's one of the words that gets my heart pumping, my blood rushing, and my cheeks flushed - almost immediately. This is not an acquired trait. I come through it quite naturally. One might even say it is inherited.
As a teenager, I was often embarrassed by my Father's love of bargains and his trips to surplus and salvage stores. I would shake my head incredulously at his excitement over his latest "deal". I would marvel at the number of bent #10 canned goods shelved in our garage that remained unused for years.
Now, more than a few years later, I find myself being just as excited by my "finds." I find myself telling my friends and family about my latest bargain. I find myself proud to say, "I am my Father's daughter."
So, nothing excites me more than combining my two loves: my love of the Internet and my love for bargains. This article combines those two loves.
There are so many free email accounts available today that one might have to start a new Day Planner just to keep track of all the addresses. This article will focus on my favorites.
One thing to keep in mind in signing up for free accounts is that someone has to finance these services. Some of these accounts require viewing Web page advertisements. Some require you to accept advertiser supported email messages. Some provide an introductory level of service, with additional capabilities provided via subscription. In general, these requirements are of minimal inconvenience.

Geocities is one of the largest online communities on the Internet. In addition to providing free email accounts, Geocities also provides eleven megabytes of Web site hosting, Web page building tools, online chat, forums, and help guides and tutorials.
Geocities consists of forty themed neighborhoods. Examples of these neighborhoods are Augusta (golf and the finer side of the fairways), Eureka (home offices), and The Tropics (vacations, resorts, and travel).
Click here to sign up for Geocities. After selecting a neighborhood, you select your block. This block is your own personal real estate and becomes your Web site address.
After providing contact information, you will be e-mailed account information. This information allows you to access all areas of Geocities. Access these areas to change your email preferences, develop your Web pages, or interact with any of the other two million Geocities "citizens". The only disadvantage of this service is the Geocities logo overlay on each of your personal home pages.
